Having a well mannered dog can greatly enhance the human - animal bond. We offer many classes and activities that owners can choose from to further enjoy the companionship they share with their pets.
The Paw Training Academy
Puppy orientation - a pre-ownership session for prospective puppy owners, an informational class covering basic puppy necessities, how to look for the right puppy, what types of costs to expect, and other questions answered.
Puppy Kindergarten - a class for puppies 3 - 6 months of age. There is less play time and more time spent on basic training and manners. This class is a great introduction to obedience training and learning new skills. It also offers a closer look at products available for our beloved friends and and introduction to the pool!
Basic Obedience - A new 6 week class to follow puppy classes. This class offers basic training and gives your puppy an opportunity to continue training and be ready for the longer 10 week obedience classes.
Beginner Obedience - something for everyone from the family companion dog to those who want to take it further. Many types will be available from traditional, to clicker training. This class is for any dog 5 months and older.
Intermediate - the next level after the beginner class
Advanced - really helps to get to that top level of obedience
Agility - after some basic obedience, owners can try this fun sport which utilizes jumps, teeters, dog walks, A-frames, tunnels and chutes (Classes not currently offered, but will be available soon!)
Rally - a fun newer type of obedience that includes obeying a command posted at different stations. Dogs are timed on the course. Prerequisite class: 8 or 10 week beginner class
Flyball - A fast, fun, relay team of dogs jump over hurdles and retreive tennis balls. Fun to watch and for your dog to participate in!
Conformation - for those who are interested in showing their dogs
Canine Good Citizen testing- great way to know if your dog is a well behaved citizen of the community! Go to http://www.akc.org/events/cgc/training_testing.cfm
Testing for Therapy Dog Certification - for anyone interested in taking their dogs to different locations to visit people in settings such as hospitals, schools, nursing homes, etc… to spread love, kisses and smiles
