What vaccinations will my pet need and why?
All dogs need to be current on Rabies, Bordetella, and Distemper combo vaccinations. Feline guests need to be current on the rabies and Distemper combo vaccination. Cats need a negative feline leukemia test and vaccination to use the play area. All guests will need to have a negative fecal test, and must be on a veterinary prescription strength flea preventative product. Please provide these records a minimum of 2 days in advance to expedite check in. See vaccinations for more information. We value the health and safety of all our guests. We want you to be assured that your pet will be in a safe and healthy environment while a guest of The Paw.
Why do I need to make a check in appointment?
We schedule 15 minute appointments for all our boarding guests. During this time, we will
assess your pet's needs. We will also do a brief physical examination, get to know your pet,
take your pet out to the playgrounds for a potty break, acclimate your pet to the kennel
environment, and ask any questions we may have regarding your pet's stay.

Why are there certain times for me to bring my pet?
Certain times of the day, our kennel staff is unavailable to assist with check ins because they
are attending to our current guests for playtime, feeding, etc...We are better able to serve
our new arrivals in the scheduled appointment times.
I've boarded my pet with you before, do I still need a check in appointment?
Yes! In order to provide the best possible care for your pet, we need to perform a brief
Examination, and go over any changes in your pet's needs since the last boarding visit.
These appointments may go faster than the initial visit, but we would appreciate you setting
aside the 15 minute time just in case.
Can you administer my pet’s medication while they are staying with you?
Our highly trained staff, including two Certified Veterinary Technicians can gladly administer most medications to your pet. Our policy is to give the medication and visually inspect that the pet has taken it. We have pill pockets available, or you are welcome to bring in other food items to disguise the medication in. Fees apply for this service. Please consult with staff upon check in.
Do we have to bring our own bed?
We provide bedding for all of our guests. We have Kuranda beds, and blankets available at no extra charge. If you bring your pet's bed, please remember it needs to be washable, and to write your pet's name and your last name on it clearly with permanent marker, as it may need to be laundered during your pet's stay. No large dog beds please.
Can I bring my own dog food?
Although we provide Nutro’s brand foods at The Paw, you may choose to bring your pet’s own food. Please bring only enough food for your pet's stay. We suggest portioning out meals into single feeding bags so we can be sure to feed your pet the way you would like us to.
How many times per day does my dog go outside? Does my dog get to play with other dogs?
Our canine guests go out at least four times each day. If your pet is able to integrate into group play, One of these outings includes a 30 minute period in either our 40,000 sq ft artificial turf play yard or spacious 5400 sq ft indoor play room with high traction rubber flooring. Dogs that are spayed/neutered, and have passed the screening process are welcome to join group activities. Guests staying in the executive suites receive this service as part of the package. If your dog requires individual time out, and you would like additional exercise and attention given, we have turf/play sessions available a la carte.
How do you determine which dogs will do well together in playgroup?
Our playgroups are determined by a dog’s individual needs and personality. Most often the important factors are age, size, weight, temperament and play-style, which we assess through your pet’s profile and ongoing observation.
What if my dog doesn’t like other dogs?
We find that most of our guests play with others, however if your dog shows unfriendly behavior towards other dogs, they will not be able to participate in playgroups. To accommodate these guests, we offer individual play time. There are additional fees applied for this service. Please ask upon check in.
Can I bring my dog’s favorite toy?
The Paw allows 2 comfort items, but please bring only toys that are for heavy use, such as kongs, nylabones, and others in that category. Stuffed animals, squeakers, and many other toys are meant for interactive play only, and should not be used in a kennel. Please limit items to a small bag with two toys and clearly label your pet's belongings.
